| Kate was born in London in a family of theatrical and television actress Judy Lo and well-known TV actor Richard Бекинсэйла, who died in 1979 at the age of 31. Cate has an older half-sister Samantha, also an actress. Great-grandfather Beckinsale was originally from Burma, and Kate says that as a child she was «very Asian appearance».
